PURION 2500 H
UV technology plants of the PURION product line are characterized by compact construction and a high degree of efficiency respecting to disinfection and energy consumption. The construction design follows laws, standards and regulations.

UV Plant PURION 2500 H is equipped with a polished stainless - steel reactor. PURION 2500 H can be used to disinfect
high temperature water especially to protect against legionella. It is possible to disinfect drinking water up to a flow
rate of 4.000 l/h and for a transmission of at least 90% per cm. The used uv lamps are characterized by a long durability
and a high degree of efficiency respecting to disinfection and energy consumption. The power supply is carried out with
230 V/50 Hz or 110 V/60 Hz.
The compact construction design enables an easy replacement of the uv lamp at the end of their useful life. You don't need any
tool. Also replacement and cleaning of the quartz pipe can be arranged easily. UV disinfection is reached by floating the water
through the reactor. Inside the reactor an uv lamp enclosed in a uv-c transparent quartz pipe is surrounded by the drinking
water to be treated. The small distance of 7.5 mm between the quartz pipe and the inner surface of the reactor ensures optimal
irradiation and therefore optimal disinfection of the water.

PURION UV-units to prevent legionella in drinking water systems and swimming pools
Legionnaire's disease is a dangerous kind of pneumonia often with fatal consequences. In the USA nearly 15,000 fatal casualties
are supposed to be caused by legionella every year.
Inhalation of aerosols contaminated with legionella is the main way of infection. If water is sprayed contaminated water-air mixtures
can easily arise. In consequence a high danger of infection is caused.
Especially in swimming pools legionella settles in filters preferentially. Inadequate materials for filters and improper backwashing
activities are beeing held responsible. In case of infected systems to prevent active legionella from reaching the swimming pool
the uv plant has to be installed directly into the main water flow.
Water-bearing pipes, mountings and activated carbon filter in drinking water systems are ideal breeding grounds for legionella.
The uv plants should be installed into drinking water lines near the sampling point. To inactivate legionella a high dose of uv radiation is necessary. Decomposition of combined chlorine is another positive effect of uv radiation.
Further critical areas
- Showers in hotels, hospitals, nursing homes
- Whirl pools and baths with sputteringwater attractions
- Ventilating plants with humidifying action
- Areas where water is sprayed for cooling and humidification
Persons at special risk
- Stressed out people
- Travellers
- Older people
- Sick people (organ transplantation, chemo therapy, HIV-infected persons)
- Heavy smokers and people with a high consume of alcohol
